Laurier Reflection: Bio

Synopsis

Laurier Reflection is a series of short puzzle-based live-action games that were created to be played at the 15th Anniversary Criminology Alumni Dinner for the 20th Anniversary of Laurier’s Brantford Campus, with the purpose of being played in the future as well. The games in the series each represent a different evolution Laurier Brantford and the Criminology Program went through including the building, programs, partnerships, alumni, and Native Education. This game series also was the winner of the Gold Medal for Best Alumni Event of 2020 at the Prix d'Excellence, awarded by the Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education (CCAE). For this group project, I originally started as a game designer during the initial stages of development. My main game focuses where the medicine garden puzzle and the Criminology puzzle, where I designed the first few iterations of each puzzle. Afterwards, I was transferred to the role of the main artist who designed all of the game elements, including the digital art of the cards, boards, and maps, as well as the photographer for the pictures of the new buildings.  Within the file uploaded there is the design document, rules for each of the puzzles, and examples of game elements for each of the five puzzles.
