The Unknown of Doki Doki Literature Club

Synopsis

The Unknown of Doki Doki Literature Club is a discussion paper in which I apply four of the values at play to the video game Doki Doki Literature Club to help players deepen their knowledge of the unknown. The four values that I discuss are the narrative premise; the characters and the rules of interaction; the player’s choices; and hardware and software which shows the initial concept of the game is not what the players are actually experiencing but instead an unknown side to games.
